The post-season is here for CIF basketball and the No. 1 team in the latest State Top 30 boys basketball rankings is also the top seed in the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs, which expanded this year to include two more teams. The 10-team field consists of 10 of the state’s top 13 teams and the seeds don’t match our rankings because head-to-head wasn’t as big a factor to the computer rankings as it should be. The L.A. City Section extended its regular season one week because of the devastating fires in January and the rest of the state also has one more week remaining in the regular season.
