Mater Dei and De La Salle will head into the CIF Open Division state final at No. 1 and No. 4 in the state. The big news this week among these teams is Newbury Park going from No. 15 up to No. 9. Unlike top seed Murrieta Valley in the CIFSS D2 playoffs, the Panthers don’t have a loss to any other team to hold them back. Edison of Huntington Beach gets a slight bump after winning the CIFSS D3 title and St. Francis of Mountain View is back in this top group after winning CCS D1 crown.
