We’ve arrived at that point of the season in which Mater Dei and St. John Bosco are playing in their Trinity League showdown. This time it’s MD at No. 1 and SJB at No. 2 in the state (and nation). Orange County teams are still in the 3-4-5 spots since No. 5 Servite’s losses are to the top two and it is playing No. 4 Orange Lutheran this week, too. Lincoln of San Diego only got a slight bump for its big win over Cathedral Catholic, but others from behind the Hornets got bigger bumps, including Clovis East, St. Francis (MV), Newbury Park and especially La Costa Canyon.
