After San Diego, we go back up the road for our series of preseason all-section or all-area teams around the state with a look at the CIF L.A. City Section. At its strongest, L.A. City Section football was dominated by long-time Marine League powers Carson and Banning of Wilmington, and this year it looks like a different Marine team will end Birmingham of Lake Balboa’s stranglehold on the section’s Open Division title. Will the Patriots keep their city section winning streak alive?
Note: These preseason all-section or all-area teams are done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last fall and college recruiting. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.
