Preseason All-Central Section FB Team

The two running backs on the preseason All-Central Section football team are Brison Abbott (left) of Bakersfield and Jackson Cinfel of Clovis North (on the left with teammate McKay Madsen). McKay is a no-brainer on the team as a multi-purpose player. Photos: Bakersfield HS Athletics / MaxPreps.com & Mark Tennis / Cal-Hi Sports.

After starting in Orange County, the second stop in our annual tour of the state through the selection of preseason football honor squads is the CIF Central Section. It’s the home of three current NFL starting QBs (Josh Allen, Derek Carr & Jordan Love) and we had to get creative through our multi-purpose category to get four of the five of them written up on this team.

Note: These preseason all-section or all-area teams are done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Transfers may not be included if not reported yet, haven’t played for a new school yet, or info on a transfer from previous school isn’t available. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.
