Mater Dei wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. moves to the top of the state among this class after his transfer from Ohio. Another Monarchs’ transfer, offensive tackle Kodi Greene Jr., is not far behind. This class, however, is also about quarterbacks, led by two of the very best incoming juniors in the nation.

There isn’t an asterisk placed on the names of players who have transferred when the various state player rankings that we do are presented. But there are times when major transfers — both incoming to schools in California and outgoing to schools out of the state — have huge impacts when a project like the Hot 100 football recruits gets compiled.

Since 2016 when the current era of dominance in the state began by the super powers of Mater Dei (Santa Ana) and St. John Bosco (Bellflower) that has been fueled in part by impact transfers, there are transfers every year but some years there are bigger ones.
