This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. More than lists and numbers, we can provide historical context since we’ve maintained state records in California for more than 40 years. We begin this week with softball player Cynthia Arellano of San Jose Silver Creek tying a state record with four homers in one game and another softball player, Rylee Bocchini of Madera Liberty, going into the books with six consecutive homers (which also may be a new national record). For baseball, multi-sport athletes Nate Gomez, Alec Blair and A.J. Minyard all had notable outings.
