This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. The defense of national No. 1 Mater Dei gets a shout out for shutting out Los Alamitos and ending a streak of 444 straight games in which that hadn’t happened to the Griffins. Go inside to see which team was the last to do that in a 1986 playoff game. Eight-man football also takes the spotlight with Trevin Adams of California School for the Deaf (Riverside) who came within two points of tying state single-game 8-man scoring record in the CIFSS D1 final. We also have some basketball players listed for the first time, a very Folsom-like outing for QB Austin Mack and QB Will Augenstein of San Jose Branham with 472 offensive yards.
