Boys BB: Divisional All-State 2022

It’s now official that Miles Byrd (left) from Lincoln of Stockton and his dad, Calvin, are both all-state players. Calvin was first team in 1989 from St. Joseph of Alameda. Miles is first team D1/Open for 2022. He will play next at San Diego State. At right, all-state D2 players Jake Hall of Carlsbad and Cruz Billings from Foothill of Tustin go up against each other during epic triple-overtime 96-95 win by Foothill in the CIF SoCal D2 quarterfinals. All of the selections for our 43rd annual all-state boys basketball teams are complete and now it’s time to get them out. We start with a look at all of those listed according to the five CIF divisions. It can get confusing about which divisions which players are in for schools that were not in the NorCal or SoCal regional playoffs, but every player was considered carefully. The elite first, second and third teams will be posted tomorrow.
