State Stat Stars of the Week

Danny Olivera of Firebaugh (left) ranks as one of the state’s early leaders in rushing and scoring. It wasn’t that long ago we were writing up Firebaugh QB Josh Allen as a state stat star. At right is sophomore Myles Jackson of Long Beach Millikan, who passed for 422 yards last week. Photos: Twitter.com & the562.org.

This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports and is now in its fifth week as part of the 2021-22 school year. There were three QBs who hit 400 passing yards or more, two sophomores and a senior who has been State Junior and State Sophomore of the Year. We also have more big games from the reported state leaders in rushing and passing yards.
