State Stat Stars of the Week

Two of those singled out to get state attention are Blake Nichelson of Manteca & Sione Aupiu from St. Anthony of Long Beach. Photos: Wayne Thallander / mantecabulletin.com & the562.org.

This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports and is now in its third week as part of the 2021-22 school year. The craziest game of last week may have been a 67-47 win by Orange over Capistrano Valley in which Tigers’ QB Zach Siskowic qualified for the state record book with 476 yards passing. We also have four more TDs for reported state scoring leader Blake Nichelson of Manteca plus a great performance from a QB who had to go to the hospital to get checked out in his previous game.
