Inspired by the phenomenal success this season of Firebaugh’s Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills, we’ve come up with an all-time all-state small schools football team. It’s been done based on what’s happened by players after high school and it’s filled with many more stories of those who were under-recruited and mostly unknown in high school. St. Anthony of Long Beach is the only school to have three players chosen on the first team.
Note: We will be doing another of these teams later this week for medium schools that will include NFL quarterback legend Aaron Rodgers from Pleasant Valley of Chico. We’re using the same 30-player format for all of our all-state football teams that have been done for more than 40 years and are basing these teams on small school level of competition that the schools involved have faced for almost all of their years.
Note: This is a post for our Gold Club members only. Our plan before high school competition resumes in the state will be to continue to produce historical features and all-time lists plus updating as many state records as we can so that when the games get going again our site will be as packed as its ever been with archives that will continue to grow with exclusive lists that don’t exist anywhere else. They will never get old and can continuously be checked by our members. That could be the next time someone scores eight TDs in a football game, 60 points in a basketball game or seven runs in a baseball/softball game.
