It’s time to start to get out the 40th annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Girls Basketball Teams with a look at the best of the best among juniors, sophomores and freshmen. CIF Southern Section Open Division titlist Mater Dei of Santa Ana leads the way since all five starters were underclassmen and all five landed on these teams (three juniors, one sophomore, one freshman). State Team of the Year La Jolla Country Day, which had the senior Ms. Basketball Player of the Year, is one of several schools that has two honorees. While this is a Gold Club post, the one for all-state teams according to CIF divisions will be free and will be finished in a few days.

Note: This is a post for our Gold Club members only. Upcoming state record updates and girls basketball features like all-time team rankings also will be for Gold Club members only. Our all-state hoops patch for this year is now available to order. This year’s patches are being delivered this week to our partners at BillyTees.com.

To order a commemorative, official All-State Basketball patch for those who’ve been named to one of our all-state teams for the 2020 season, go to THIS LINK at BillyTees.com. The special link has been set up for all-state basketball patches. Billy Tees has been the official merchandiser of the CIF for many years. Also from BillyTees.com, schools that were supposed to be in the CIF state finals can still get gear as if those games were played.

Special thanks to associate editor Harold Abend for contributions to these teams.
