In one of the wildest weekends we can ever recall in covering boys basketball in our great state, NorCal No. 1 Sheldon is removed from the NorCal regional playoffs on Saturday by the closing of the Elk Grove Unified School District and its related activities for a week, only to see the same district ask the CIF to reinstate the Huskies on Sunday. As of now, we’ll treat the fluid situation as if Sheldon is in the NorCal open playoffs. Even without that, there were some significant teams moving up and others seeing the season earlier than expected. With one week to go and the CIF state finals coming up on Friday & Saturday in Sacramento, there are three new teams in this week’s rankings.
