When looking at an area like the East Bay portion of the CIF North Coast Section with a newly re-aligned playoff system, somewhat of the same approach has to be taken when looking at the area’s preseason team. The same powerhouse schools dominate the selections, led by De La Salle (Concord) followed by Liberty (Brentwood) and Bishop O’Dowd (Oakland). Pittsburg, Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley of Danville and Las Lomas (Walnut Creek) also have more than one first team selections.
Note: These preseason all-section teams will be done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists. Players from the CIF Oakland Section were considered for the NCS East Bay squad while players from San Francisco were considered for the CIF Central Coast Section.
