We’ll now start going more quickly with the compilations of these preseason all-section and all-area football teams. We go from the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section in a southern direction down the Valley to the CIF Central Section for our third one. Defending D1 champion Central of Fresno will have to replace a record-breaking quarterback but as this team shows will have plenty of returning standouts on the field to be considered the favorite. Buchanan of Clovis also can be in that role with the type of returnees that it will have. Getting all of the section’s deep cast of playmaking receivers and running backs actually was too hard to do so a couple of them we have put on second team.
Note: These preseason all-section teams will be done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Transfers may not be included if not reported yet or info on a transfer from previous school isn’t available. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.
