Preseason Orange County FB Team

We are kicking off our preseason football coverage for the 2019 season with the first of our annual preseason all-county, all-section or all-region teams that will eventually touch every corner of California. We start with talent-laden Orange County, home to the two-time defending CIF Open Division champion Mater Dei Monarchs. They obviously dominate these selections, but OC also has some of the most prolific offensive talent coming back anywhere and many of those players don’t wear the scarlet and white three-striped helmets.

Note: These preseason all-section teams will be done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists. For these teams, editor/publisher Mark Tennis picked the players before going on vacation and enlisted the help of our Orange County correspondent, Chuck Nan, who actually wrote all of the short bios.

Coming Next: CIF Sac-Joaquin Section

We hope you consider a Gold Club membership on CalHiSports.com to view all the preseason all section teams. The preseason All-State Team, which is being done for the 33rd consecutive year, also will be a Gold Club post, but the actual preseason state team rankings package will remain a free one.
