We update our boys hoops rankings going into the major holiday tournaments with this week’s pecking order reflecting recent upset losses by previous No. 3 St. John Bosco and previous No. 4 Sacramento Sheldon. Can state No. 2 Rancho Christian win both the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas and The Classic at Damien? Is the potential LAUSD strike going to derail the seasons of L.A. City hoop powers Westchester and Fairfax? The next set of rankings will be after the New Year.

1. (1) Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) 9-0
Since our last update, the Trailblazers were impressive in wins over Camarillo, No. 10 Corona Centennial and Santa Clarita Christian. The competition is going to get heavy at the Iolani Classic, where Sierra Canyon could meet FAB 50 ranked Oak Ridge of Orlando or state No. 4 Westchester in the championship semifinals.
