The highest riser among this group of teams is Helix of La Mesa, which is living up to preseason acclaim in the playoffs after laying an egg in its last regular season game. The Highlanders jumped up this week to No. 38 from No. 50 after big win over Eastlake. Both Sierra Canyon and Grace Brethren won impressively, but can’t move up nearly that many spots (just one each for both) since Sierra Canyon has a loss to a Lawndale squad that also is going for a CIFSS title this weekend. This week’s only newcomer, meanwhile, is Capital Christian of Sacramento.
