It could have been three different teams that could have been the new No. 1 in this week’s State Top 20, but the pick went to the next highest in line as Cathedral Catholic of San Diego moved up from No. 2. Previous No. 1 Norco lost to new No. 3 Lutheran of Orange in the finals of a major tourney bracket in Arizona. The Cougars bounced back Wednesday to post a big win over Mater Dei of Santa Ana. This week’s newcomers are led by Pacifica of Garden Grove, which was another SoCal team that did well in Arizona. St. Francis of Mountain View also cracks the elite lineup.
