All-Time State Player Rankings (DLs)

Gino Marchetti (Antioch) is still the only defensive lineman from California in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Photo: Colts.com.

Here’s the latest in this series that was begun last year with QBs, RBs and WRs and picked back up again recently with offensive linemen. Both LBs and DBs will be done soon so we can include the lists in the back of our upcoming book “High School Football in California” that should be out in time for the 2018 season. There is only player for the DLs so far who is even in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but we have an inkling that Antioch’s Gino Marchetti will be joined someday by Jared Allen of Los Gatos.

(Note: The following players from California high schools are all ranked in order based on their success after they’ve gone on to college and to the NFL.)
