Sac-Joaquin Section Top 5: RBs

We are happy to announce that for the fifth straight year the CalHiSports.com web site and Cal-Hi Sports will be part of the weekly Final Quarter high school football show on Friday nights on the FOX 40 station in Sacramento.

On last week’s show, we revealed our picks for the Top 5 running backs in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section. Here is what that countdown revealed:

1. Dusty Frampton (St. Mary’s) Sr.
All-state junior had 2,345 yards and 42 touchdowns for the Rams last season.

2. Greg Cabral (Del Campo) Sr.
Produced big-time numbers for Cougars as a junior with 2,418 yards rushing and 21 TDs.

3. D’Marcus Ross (Capital Christian) Jr.
He’s one of the top juniors in Northern California who also plays defensive back.

4. Lorenzo Burkes (Jesuit) Sr.
Powerful 6-foot-2, 225-pound fullback also rushed for 1,400 yards last season.

5. Cameron Cherry (Oakdale) Sr.
Had 244 yards rushing in first game and may get to 2,000 early in playoffs.

Polls also will once again be conducted on the FOX 40 website for the Papa Murphy’s Fan Favorite Game of the Week. The 30-minute show is twice a long as any other Friday night high school football show in the Sacramento market.

Watch this week’s show Friday at 11 p.m. for all the local highlights, plus the next Top 5 from CalHiSports.com, which will be the top five running backs in the SJS. The show will include highlights from all of the biggest games in the region, including the Fan Favorite game of the week. Thanks to host Jim Crandell and the FOX 40 team for once again letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.

Think there might be a mistake here. These look like Running Backs.

Yeah, headline errors are the worst. Just forgot to switch the one letter.
