Trinity League dominance gets more pronounced every week and this time the super league now has all six teams in the top 15. We have Orange Lutheran, Santa Margarita, JSerra and Servite at No. 12 through No. 15 but really any order may make sense. The other big move this week was jumping up CIF Sac-Joaquin Section powerhouse Folsom to No. 7. That’s a position the school has become familiar with in recent seasons (even higher for some). Oaks Christian also is now in the Top 25 after win over previous No. 21 Paraclete.

(Last week’s ranking in parentheses)
(After games of Saturday, Sept. 9)
1. (1) Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 3-0
Playing perhaps similarly to the way they did the week before taking on Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), the Monarchs just did the basics in blanking La Mirada 42-0. It’s also been a down year for La Mirada so far compared to last year when the Matadores were in the CIF Southern Section D3 final. J.T. Daniels scored on a 60-yard run on the first play to get things going and finished 13 of 15 for 248 yards and three TDs. All three TDs went to Nikko Remigio. Shakobe Harper also scored on a 62-yard run. Bergen Catholic of Oradell, N.J., is the national opponent that is up next for the Monarchs. Bergen was in the top 20 of some national rankings, but we’ll find out if it will be like playing Bishop Gorman or St. John Bosco. The game will be Saturday night at Mission Viejo.
