It didn’t require much debate to settle on Mater Dei of Santa Ana QB J.T. Daniels as the State Sophomore of the Year. After all, Daniels passed for 4,849 yards and 67 TDs in leading the Monarchs to the No. 1 ranking in the state until they couldn’t repeat a win against St. John Bosco of Bellflower in the CIF Southern Section Division I championship.
