(After games of Saturday, Oct. 29)
(Previous ranking in parentheses)
1. (1) Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 9-0
Whether it’s him or the team around him, the numbers for soph QB J.T. Daniels, who went 26 of 28 for 327 yards and six TDs in win vs. Servite, continue to be ridiculous.
2. (2) Centennial (Corona) 8-1
For the second week in a row, the Huskies scored a touchdown on their first play. They end regular season Thursday vs. M.L. King.
3. (3) St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 7-2
By all indications, Braves will be No. 3 seed for CIFSS D1 playoffs assuming they beat Orange Lutheran next. Mission Viejo seems headed for fourth seed.
4. (4) Mission Viejo 9-0
San Clemente and big-time QB Jack Sears will be the opponent for the Diablos when they try to wrap up perfect regular season and win South Coast League title.
5. (5) Rancho Cucamonga 9-0
Jaylon Redd ripped off 219 yards on 17 carries and had three TDs in win over Damien of La Verne.
6. (6) Narbonne (Harbor City) 9-0
Jalen Chatman, one of the state’s top junior QBs, had four TD passes in 41-3 triumph vs. San Pedro.
7. (7) Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) 9-0
Shutout win over St. Augustine was nice, but 8-1 Madison team the Dons are playing this week beat Saints 56-42 earlier in season.
8. (8) De La Salle (Concord) 8-1
You can’t read much into the Spartans’ 76-0 win vs. Union City Logan, but this week’s matchup vs. 9-0 Monte Vista is huge. With their D1 talent and way they played last week, Mustangs seem poised to make some history.
9. (9) Serra (Gardena) 6-3
The Cavs didn’t play but wrapped up outright Mission League title due to Bishop Amat’s win over Chaminade.
10. (11) Monte Vista (Danville) 9-0
Impressive 32-20 win over San Ramon Valley (team that lost to De La Salle just 28-27) nudges the Mustangs up into the top 10 heading into their matchup Friday vs. the Spartans. Previous No. 10 Murrieta Valley simply went down to No. 11.
