The first Cal-Hi Sports/Gold Medal Excellence Speed Camp coming up on Jan. 31 at Palisades High School in Pacific Palisades will accept campers all the way through walk-ups on the day of the event.
This speed camp has been specifically designed to benefit football players who are just getting started on their off-season conditioning programs and who plan to participate in a combine or camp.
“It’s amazing when you go to a combine and watch kids run the 40-yard dash,” said Asher, who will be director of the camp and has coaching experience with USA Track & Field. “More than half of them have never been coached at all about how to do it and all of them could do better.”
The camp will run from four hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include drills and instruction to help all athletes improve their speed. To check it out, CLICK HERE.
One athlete who trained last summer with Asher was defensive back Antonio Cromartie of the Arizona Cardinals, who had an interception and return that set up a touchdown in last Saturday’s NFC Wild Card Playoff Game. Cromartie improved his 40 time to 4.32 seconds with Asher’s assistance.
