This is the preseason football team that essentially combines the two coverage areas of the Long Beach Press-Telegram and South Bay Daily Breeze within the CIF Southern Section. Schools in westside of L.A. in the CIFSS also are included in this group. Any player from any school other than St. John Bosco, Long Beach Poly and Serra of Gardena, however, really has to stand out to get picked since those three are perhaps the most talent-laden squads not just in California but among the best nationally.
Note: These preseason all-section teams will be done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.

WR Jalen Hall (Long Beach Poly) 6-3, 185, Sr.
The No. 3 player in the state’s Class of 2018 rankings, Hall will be playing for the Jackrabbits this season after three years at Hawkins of Los Angeles. Yes, he was already a star there as a freshman. Jalen has committed to USC.
