Preseason All-Orange County FB Team

With a team that is the consensus preseason No. 1 team in the nation, you might expect that the outlook for the Orange County region of the CIF Southern Section might be dominated by Mater Dei of Santa Ana. Yep, that’s true. The Monarchs have a whopping 10 players among the 30 on this group. Multiple players, however, also are shown for Mission Viejo, Corona del Mar, JSerra and San Clemente.

Note: These preseason all-section teams will be done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.

OFFENSE

WR Austin Osborne (Mission Viejo) 6-3, 185, Sr.
As a sophomore for Mission’s 16-0 team that won the CIF D1-AA state title, Osborne was one of the top receivers. His numbers were not awesome as a junior (36 catches) but those went for nearly 1,000 yards and 16 TDs. Osborne has committed to Washington.
