For the fifth straight year, we are going to tour the state starting from now until the start of the 2017 football season by releasing preseason all-section, all-area and all-county football teams from eight of the 10 CIF sections (including San Francisco and Oakland with other sections). We’re beginning with the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section where defending D1 champion St. Mary’s of Stockton has three on our first team and one on second. The only team to match the Rams with those totals is Oak Ridge of El Dorado Hills.

Note: These preseason all-section teams will be done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists. Coming Next: The Inland Empire of the CIF Southern Section.

OFFENSE

WR Isaiah Crocker (Inderkum, Sacramento) 6-1, 170, Sr.
Despite playing in just nine games last season, he showed why he has offers from schools like Alabama, Oregon and Oregon State as he led the Tigers with 31 receptions for 746 yards and 10 touchdowns. At spring and summer events, Crocker showed an acrobatic style and the ability to make the toughest catches.
