This class for the state starts the 2017 season revamped somewhat due to an unusual high number of transfers, but it’s a group dominated by another strong collection of quarterbacks. Some of the ones who may be on the best teams are not ranked as high as others on various recruiting lists and there are injuries to be considered as well. Go inside for an updated look the top ranked players in the California class based on a consensus of the four major recruiting networks plus a few we liked from games we saw last season.

Note: We also have player rankings in football coming for the Class of 2019 as well as more player rankings coming for boys basketball after all of the NCAA summer evaluation events have been held. All player ranking charts are for Gold Club members only. This is a great time to sign up and you can get it for just $9.99 for three months. For details, CLICK HERE.

One of the first aspects that stands out about California’s Class of 2018 in football is how transfers since the end of the 2016 season have made the group look like one we usually see in boys basketball.

Two of the top five ranked players, based on an accumulation of rankings from Scout, Rivals, ESPN and the 24/7 college recruiting networks, are now teammates at Long Beach Poly after both switched. Quarterback Matt Corral, a USC commit, came from Oaks Christian of Westlake Village while wide receiver Jalen Hall came from Hawkins of Los Angeles.
