All of the preseason all-region and section teams are reviewed to produce our 29th annual Cal-Hi Sports preseason all-state football team. Although two of these all-region teams have yet to be published (some programs don’t begin playing until September 5), we still wanted to release this year’s 90-man preseason all-state team before week zero gets underway.

RELATED: All-State Teams Revisited (2013)

The 2014 Cal-Hi Sports preseason football all-state team is based on high school performance from last season and on performance at various camps and combines, especially for the linemen. There are two repeaters to the first team: defensive back Iman Marshall of Long Beach Poly and kicker Kevin Robledo of Westlake. As the season progresses, you will notice this team will vary from the actual, end-of-the season all-state team. That will be published in January 2015 after the season and takes into account team performance, various injuries, suspensions or transfers, and local consensus.

For our Gold Club Members, we have now published all of our preseason all-state football teams dating back to 1986. You can also find them linked under “Honor Squads” on the Archives tab on the upper navigation bar. We’ll be adding more archived honors squads in the coming months, including the actual end-of-season all-state teams that date back to 1979. To join our team of Gold Club members today, CLICK HERE.

Note: These teams were selected after most of the Cal-Hi Sports preseason honors have been posted for each CIF section and for multiple regions of the CIF Southern Section. High school accomplishment is the most important criteria for making these prestigious teams. But for some positions (especially linemen) the recruitment of certain players does become a little hard to ignore.

Great to see many inland empire players on these list but want to open your eyes and ears to Murrieta Valley’s junior Querio Woodley 6’4 250 DE who handled Rancho verde’s Tevita Halalilo pretty easily at two lineman competions at RV and CC. watch out for him .

We will be doing an updated list of top prospects for the Class of 2016 now that we’ve gone through every preseason honors team plus every position and will be sure to check out Woodley. Thanks for the tip.
